Weddings

Being a wedding officiant is such a joy. It is a privilege to guide two people, in love and committed to each other, through both an exciting and sacred time. Should you live in Atlanta or plan to marry in another part of the country, we can work together, through pre-marital counseling, to make your wedding ceremony exactly what you imagine it to be.

The purpose of pre-marital counseling is for both spouses to learn about themselves and their partners. Through our counseling sessions, you will learn how to be the best collective “you.” We will also discuss Jewish wedding rituals and customs. I work with you to create a ceremony that reflects each of you, your love for each other, and your families. I work with Jewish couples, interfaith couples, and gay/lesbian couples.

"Rabbi Lauren was everything we hoped for an more! Her pre-marital counseling was immensely helpful in addressing both our long and short term needs. We also connected during these sessions in a way that our made Ketubah signing and marriage ceremony more personal. Lastly she made non-Jewish family feel involved and welcomed. We felt that Rabbi Lauren truly cared for us and can't imagine our wedding day without her."

"Rabbi Lauren was wonderful to work with throughout the entire planning process of our wedding ceremony. Since we were having an interfaith wedding, she was very open to meeting both our needs and ensuring that we were comfortable with the selection of the prayers included. She also did a great job explaining and translating things for our non-Jewish guests. Her closing words were probably our favorite part of the ceremony, as she happened to choose the Lauryn's favorite poem, "I Carry Your Heart" by e.e. cummings, which also happned to be inscried on our ketubah. Her words were meaningful, sincere, and on point. We would highly recommend her for any ceremony whether it be Jewish or interfaith."

"Before choosing Rabbi Lauren, we had met with several Rabbis; however, after our first meeting with her, we were impressed and enthusiastic about her officiating at our wedding. Originating from a Catholic background, Jeffrey was inquisitive about having a Jewish wedding. We decided on a Jewish ceremony, but wanted to be certain that Jeffrey's family was included in the rituals. Rabbi Lauren was very open and met with our mothers to make sure they had an understanding of the traditions and werecomfortable with the ceremony. Over several months, we met with Rabbi Lauren for pre-marital counseling and were able to learn more about ourselves her and ourselves. She took incredible effort to understand us as a couple and worked with us to make our ceremony exactly as we imagined. She incorporated the traditions we sought and made our ceremony very personable. We feel a personal connection with Rabbi Lauren and hope for her to be a part of our lives and future family celebrations."

"We are not originally from Atlanta and wanted to find a rabbi in the city to officiate the wedding. Nick was a little nervous when searching for a rabbi, since he isn't Jewish and does not have much experience working with rabbis. We spoke with a few and instantly connected to Rabbi Lauren. She embraced us both and put us at ease with the wedding ceremony details and traditions. She aims to make everything inclusive as possible for both families, which we appreciate. Rabbi Lauren is very experienced and is able to relate to us both. We love pre-marital counseling; we were hesitant at first but look to forward to each session and really enjoy how personalized she makes each session based on our goals and needs. We are so lucky to have her in our lives!"
